As ASOC CENTRO HISPANO TURCO ANATOLIA, we are looking at one of the world’s most critical issues, water scarcity and sustainability, from a brand new perspective. Our new Erasmus+ Youth Exchange project, “Chasing Unseen Water: The Youth Movement to Reduce Our Water Footprint,” has received approval from the Spanish National Agency and is on its way to a greener future!

What is “Hidden Water”? What Will Young People Change?
Most of us calculate our daily water consumption only based on the amount we drink or use for cleaning. However, there is a huge amount of “hidden water” (virtual water) consumed during the production of an apple we eat, a t-shirt we wear, or the digital devices we use. Our project aims to transform young people into sustainability leaders by raising their awareness about this invisible consumption.

Our Project Goals:
Making the Invisible Visible: To provide detailed information and awareness about the hidden water usage in daily life.

Cognitive Transformation: To develop critical thinking skills on the environmental, social, and economic impacts of water consumption.

Sustainable Lifestyle: To encourage young people to change their consumption habits and make conscious choices focused on water conservation.

Youth Activism: To increase participants’ skills in developing local and international micro-projects aimed at protecting water resources.

Influencing Decision-Makers: To share project outputs with local policymakers and to add the voice of young people to water management policies.

Active Participation from a Youth Work Perspective
Our project is based not only on information transfer but also on a “learning by doing” methodology. Through non-formal learning techniques, our participants will develop fundamental competencies such as communication, problem-solving, leadership, and digital literacy, while simultaneously internalizing their European identity and global environmental responsibility.

A Model for the Future
“In Pursuit of Hidden Water” aims to provide a replicable, scalable, and high-impact model for organizations working in the youth field. By raising environmentally conscious, knowledgeable, and action-oriented individuals, we are laying the foundation for long-term change at both local and international levels.

We continue to work with enthusiasm to track the invisible water and reduce our water footprint together!
