ASOC Centro Hispano Turco Anatolia Participates in Erasmus+ Training on Youth Mental Health in Malta

From October 5 to 12, 2025, ASOC Centro Hispano Turco Anatolia participated in the Erasmus+ KA153 project “Psychosocial Techniques for the Protection of Youth Mental Health,” held in Marsaxlokk, Malta, and coordinated by Proutist Universal Malta.

The activity brought together 32 youth workers and 3 trainers from eight European countries with the aim of strengthening the skills of organizations and professionals working with young people in areas such as mental health, psychosocial support, empathy, communication, emotional intelligence, and stress management.

During the project, the ASOC Centro Hispano Turco Anatolia team actively represented our organization in workshops, intercultural activities, group work sessions, and exchanges of best practices with participants from Malta, Turkey, Bulgaria, Romania, Hungary, Greece, and Poland.

Our organization also contributed to the educational content of the training. Dila Nur Polat, as a trainer, led practical sessions on mindfulness, emotional awareness, and stress management. These workshops presented techniques that can be used by both young people and youth workers to recognize stressful situations, regulate emotions, and develop healthier coping strategies.

In addition, methods inspired by music therapy and art therapy were introduced, demonstrating how rhythm, visual expression, creativity, and artistic activities can promote communication, emotional expression, and the psychosocial well-being of young people.

Participation in this exchange allowed ASOC Centro Hispano Turco Anatolia to expand its working methods, establish new international connections, and acquire tools that can be integrated into future local activities. The knowledge gained will contribute significantly to the development of safer, more inclusive environments that are sensitive to the emotional needs of young people, including those in disadvantaged situations.

We thank Proutist Universal Malta for coordinating and hosting the project, as well as the partner organizations, trainers, and participants for their collaboration and commitment.

We also express our gratitude to Malta’s National Agency, the European Union Programmes Agency (EUPA), for its support of this initiative, and to the Erasmus+ program and the European Union for making international cooperation, the exchange of experiences, and professional development in the field of youth employment possible.
